There’s no such thing as a free lunch. At least, not if you use NoiseTrade.

    • That's illegal tho.

  5. Bandcamp.com. Some free music, a lot of name your own price, as well as standard pricing, but almost everything is free to stream as much as you want (full songs, not just 30-sec previews). There are some amazing artists as well as some big names.

  6. I DON'T CARE

  7. Here is also a link for free French music.

The rest of the website is legal but not free.

  8. I love music, thank you for you sharing!

  9. Good find but the only problem with original free music is that its from unsigned artists.. and most of the time there is a reason why they dont have record contracts.

  10. I believe http://www.TopList.fm is one of them.

Free Download Music Site – TopList.fm Free Music Downloads and Listen to Free Online Music Mp3 Streaming

  11. iZaRia.us

New, but still awesome. Got millions of tracks all available for free through copyright-compliant API providers. It just brings together music from a load of different sites..surprised nobody's thought of it before..

  12. Tonspion, Epitonic and Better Propaganda are my favorites for legal downloads. music.download.com was good but it's gone now.

Stumble Audio is good for listening. Alternative Tentacles, Southern Records and other record labels offer downloads. RCRD LBL, HELLTHY Entertainment, and Muzie are good, too.

  13. definitely have a look at grooveshark.com - you can find pretty much any song you are looking for and can make a playlist. It's my new go to player, since seeqpod hasn't been running. it's probably honestly better than any other site you listed in terms of user-friendliness, not that those are bad sites. No downloads necessary or anything. I'm not affiliated with the site, I'm just a fan and I think you guys might like it. I have no idea how this can be legal though!

  17. You forgot: magnatune.com
There is a lot of good music that is free for non commercial use. However, if you don't pay anything every mp3/ogg has the spoken text 'this was track X from the album Y by Z from magnatune dot com' appended. You can buy the music online and chose how much you want to pay by your self in a given range. Once bought you can redownload it as often as you wish. They have lossles flac files there!

However, the real way of making money with magnatune is music licensing for commercial projects. E.g. the soundtrack of the game Braid consists entirely of songs from magnatune.com. I compiled the list of songs here: http://twoday.tuwien.ac.at/pub/stories/322135/

  18. last.fm also has music that can be downloaded free in addition to cataloging the music you listen to on your computer. It's a really sweet website! Punjabi videos songs download 2017.

  19. Thought I'd drop by and add http://www.youtorrent.com - It got pwned by the RIAA etc and so reopened with terabytes of legal music etc.

    Great list btw.

  21. i'm SO disappointed that you didn't mention Jamendo.com, which has more than 18K FREE albums with Creative Commons licenses. Great music site.

  22. you should try ourstage.com

    i realy like it!

  23. I have a campus radio show which specializes in free music from across the internet (as well as locally), so some of these sources will come in handy! I would also like to point out two other great sources for free music:

  24. Awesome, I hadn't seen the legal torrents site before. It'd be nice if they organized the torrents according to genre/etc. a bit more, but still, free is free!

One of the other sites that I prowl for music is thesixtyone.com. Not all songs are downloadable (I haunt the 'recently submitted' chart to find more of them), but you can listen to everything in good quality as much as you want. Nice browsing and listening capabilities on the site.

Downloading music seems to be going the way of the dodo, with streaming services like Spotify and Deezer taking over the helm. Still, you might be interested in some ways to download some tunes for free to have on you when you're offline. So, here we've listed some of the best apps to help you do that (legally).

All of these apps can download files for free. However, you should remember that just because something's available as a free music download, it doesn't mean it's there with the copyright owner's permission. There are loads of free music downloads on pirate sites and you can be sure they're not there legally, so always ensure you have Creative Commons or Copyleft permission before downloading MP3s.

Radio Player by Audials: best for radio recording

Radio Player by Audials is one of the best ways to download free music you'll find on Android, but it's somewhat unconventional. While you can download mountains of music with Radio Player by Audials, it all arrives, appropriately, from the radio.

Radio Player by Audials boasts tens of thousands of radio stations from dozens of countries; you can begin playing these almost as soon as you can find them and with a couple of taps through its simple menu, you can soon start recording.

It's a comprehensive, well-designed app which comes with great discovery features, EQ controls and Chromecast support. What's more, Radio Player by Audials allows you to schedule recordings for an automatic supply of fantastic new music from your favorite stations. SoundCloud: best for quality and quantity

SoundCloud is one of the best free music apps if you don't just want the big hits, as the app is popular with independent or smaller artists who upload their tracks there for anyone to play back for free, with many tracks also available for download. Aside from over 125 million songs, SoundCloud also hosts talk shows, podcasts, basically anything audio.

Every music genre you could possibly imagine is covered. The free version is mostly independent artists and can be a great way to discover new music or get a look into the next big trend or emerging genre. Chart-topping big names are also present, but gave most of their stuff behind the paid version.

4shared: best for old-school cool

4shared has an enormous library of free music. Last time we checked, there were 5,965,819 tracks. The app lets you search the vast 4shared database of files for your favorite music and automatically filters searches so that they only display MP3 files. Music you download is automatically added to a 15 GB 4shared cloud folder, which is available to listen to offline. You can add your own tunes to that folder too.

This is a fantastic app for finding classic, out-of-copyright music, as well as relatively unknown tunes from emerging artists. The interface has an old-school look that will appeal to fans of older Android versions.

Songily: simplicity itself

Songily is a free app which offers a nice simple interface to search for and then play or download the music you want..provided they have it, of course. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for, and looking for a famous song can sometimes offer you a host of covers, live versions and remixes to safely and legally download, rather than the official album version. Nonetheless, there's still a ton of great tracks available for free, so it's well worth a look.

Advanced Download Manager: best for quick downloads

Advanced Download Manager lets you download three files simultaneously, including MP3s and MP4s. It includes a number of different settings that let you customize how the files are downloaded, including limiting the speed of the download (so you don't use up too much of your bandwidth), and the number of simultaneous downloads. Advanced Download Manager also provides incredibly fast download speeds.

The in-app browser doesn't make searching for free tracks as simple as it could be, but once you find what you're looking for it makes light work of downloading tracks.

Anghami: best for Arabic audio

Fancy some Arabic music? Anghami targets users in the Middle East, where it serves as a similar service to Google Play Music. But for those of us who don't live there, it's an excellent source of free Arabic songs. The free service isn't unlimited and will play some ads, but that's worth putting up with in order to discover some genuinely new music.

If you're a fan of Indian music of various types, Hungama's got you covered. Loffee - Lo-Fi Music

Loffee is a simple but wonderful little app for fans of lo-fi beats and stipped back music. This is the kind of stuff I'd listen to on a long train journey, or while lazing around the house on a Sunday afternoon. The different playlist are themed on coffee, such as Dark Roast, Fresh Grinds and Roasted Beans. The UI and artwork is slick. Everything about Loffee just seems effortlessly cool. You can pull up information on the art or music at any time during the shuffle and links to Facebook, SoundCloud, Instagram and Twitter let you explore further.

The best thing about Loffee though is that is works offline. So you won't need an internet connection to stream the music. Perfect for flights or car journeys when the signal can be patchy and non-existent.
