So my pictures always seem a bit washed out. I'm just an amateur/enthusiast and generally shoot jpeg.

I import my photos and bump the vibrancy and saturation in photoshop sometimes to my liking, but I recently discovered that using scn mode on my 70d I can use the 'vibrant' setting which makes colours a bit deeper and the picture a bit more contrasty.
I wanted to know if there was any way I could replicate this in camera without relying on the scn mode? Scn doesn't allow me to set the shutter speed or aperture and forces the flash to pop up at night.

Is this just a case of changing some settings? Or is the camera just post processing the pictures in the same way I would in photoshop?
